confused by these denied permissions when trying to copy off a share...

Ran into permission issues when trying to migrate vms from vmware esxi to pve... I'm about to switch over to using the ovftool to see if that works.

the samba host is all 7's ‍♂️
That does not mean anything. You have a lot of possibilities to restrict it:
- client user
- client mount options
- server samba settings
- server filesystem settings (octal)
- server filesystem settings (acl)
- server filesystem errors and read-only mount
