Configuring kernel in a KVM guest

Are there any helpful howto's on configuring kernels to optimize them as a guest running on top of KVM? For example:

• Which Preemption Model under "Processor type and features" is best?
• Should the "Processor family" be the same as the host processor?
• Do I disable ACPI (Power Management)?
• Best I/O scheduler?
• etc.

Best for what purpose? Anyways, I think it is best to ask such questions on the kvm mailing list.

take a look on the distro you use - they should have a support statement regarding running as a KVM guest.

I could give you my config, it's for my servers. It's for gentoo-hardened though.
