I am not certain if this has been asked already. I have 2 physical cards on the server (Eth0 and Eth1), assigned to two virtual bridges (vmbr0 and vmbr1). I want to create a third virtual switch but can't find a third NIC. Is it possible to trunk multiple VMBRs onto 1 NIC? If yes, please how do I proceed?

you don't need a physical NIC to create a virtual switch, for instance if you want to want to create a private networking only for vm-to-vm communication.

This is interesting... what type of bridge would that be? That's exactly what I am trying to achieve.
