There shouldn't be any issues running PVE on that server you mentioned. Based on the specs listed on HP's website for it.
I'm not sure exactly what storage controller you are using, but you would likely need to make sure it supports pass-through or HBA mode, if you wanted to utilize ZFS,CEPH or something similar.
