Compatibility of Proxmox VE 8.2.2 with HPE MR416i-a Gen10 Plus Controller

Hello everyone,

I'm considering deploying Proxmox VE 8.2.2 on an HP server that uses the HPE MR416i-a Gen10 Plus storage controller. Before proceeding, I'd like to confirm whether Proxmox is compatible with this controller.

I’d appreciate if anyone could share their experience, configuration recommendations, or any necessary adjustments to ensure optimal compatibility.

Just tested this with 8.4. the RAID is not supported out of the box, however I did manage to install it by setting the drives to JBOD and creating a ZFS raid in the installer.

What server? HP? Dell?
If Megaraid isn't supported out of box as hp Pxxx, ...
I have some Dells with Megaraid on PVE7, how i can "test" PVE8 if no spare available? Just booting kernel from PVE8? It's doable? Boot from ISO?

A brand new HP server, I believe this is specific to the HPE controller mentioned in the title, not sure if it's a standard Megarad.
