Hello everyone,

I am new to Proxmox and currently working on setting up a DMZ. Here is my setup:

  • Dedicated server from OVH
  • Proxmox 7.4 installed
  • Created a bridge vmbr1 (in addition to the existing vmbr0)
  • WAN interface of pfSense connected to vmbr0 (public IP address)
  • LAN interface of pfSense connected to vmbr1
After configuring pfSense (version 2.7.2), I encountered a problem: when I try to ping the gateway, I get the following error message: send to: host is down. Additionally, on the pfSense web interface, the gateway status is shown as offline, with 100% packet loss.

Details of my configuration:

  • Proxmox 7.4
  • pfSense 2.7.2
  • Bridge vmbr0: connected to the network card with the public IP address
  • Bridge vmbr1: created for the DMZ
Problem:

  • Error message: send to: host is down when pinging the gateway
  • Gateway status: offline (packet loss: 100%)
Do you have any suggestions or advice on how to resolve this communication issue between Proxmox and pfSense? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Best regards,
