Command cp with Progress Bar. Installation error

Hi, I followed this guide and it gives me this error

A compiler is not installed and should not be installed on any production system. If you still like to install, just install the dependency packages of the official debian package.

I'm sorry but I'm new to Linux.
I liked having the progress bar for copying.
Can you give me instructions on how to install it?

It looks like you are missing a tool for compiling the code. The guide mentions as the very first step sudo apt install gcc g++ make build-essential

Please make sure these are installed first.
