combine PBS datastores so they show up as one single datastore

Hello,

i recently run out of disk space and as I had two slots left on the PBS I simply added two discs in raid 1 and defined them as extra datastore.
Is there some way I can combine them to show up as one for the PVE Cluster or tell the PBS to automatically split up the backups according to free discspace?

Kind regards, Heribert

Hi,
no a datastore is a logical boundary for chunks and backup groups/namespaces, so this is not possible. You can either attach the two datastores as independent storages to the PVE cluster or sync the contents of the old storage to the new one and use that one exclusively, if the space allows this. See https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/managing-remotes.html#sync-jobs

In order to use the disk space of both, you would need to expand this on the storage level, e.g. by expanding the LVMs logical volume if that is used.
