Cluster obligatory to transfer between nodes?

Right now I have a single NODE. I'm planning to add another server so that I can transfer containers to that server. Do I need to add them to a cluster to be able to migrate VMs between them? Or is there way just to add it as just a standalone node and migrate contains between them?

you can always do a backup and restore
but, yes, for migration the nodes need to be in a cluster

Backup from one cluster then restore in another?? Hmm, that might not be a bad idea.
