Cluster configuration question

I am planning to build a 4 node cluster of Proxmox, each of which will have a multipath connection to the image/container stores of the same iSCSI shares mounted on the OS level. My question is, will this satisfy the requirement of shared storage for configuring the cluster? Or can it only be done if the iSCSI share is added in the web GUI, which does not allow me to configure multipath.

How do you want to mount (what file system)?

Right now, I have it running on a test machine. I have the multipath configured and verified to be working. The image/container store are mounted via fstab to a path on the filesystem and formatted using ext4. And in Proxmox, I created the stores as paths. I was told that if I tick the "shared" box (on all nodes), that should work.

Ext4 is not a shared file system, so you can mount it only once. But it will lead to data loss if you mount the same share on multiple hosts using ext4 (never do that).

What would be the best way to make this work? My storage backend is FreeNAS. I could do NFS instead but I'd lose the multipath.

LVM on top of iscsi is also an option,
I have the similar setup: IBM storage device promotes the disks over 2 HBA adapters and I'm using multipath in order to access them.
During Proxmox 3.x we had clustered LVM as a storage. Seems like with Proxmox 4.x clustered LVM is not available, because clvmd cannot be started (cannot work with corosync?)

I wonder if we can remove clustered flag from LVM group and use it just without clustered flag on both nodes?
