Clone VM Programmato

Buongiorno,
ho impostato la clonazione di una Vm in modo programmato tramite uno script in crontab ogni x ora,
il clone avviene da host1/storage1-lvm a host2/storage2-lvm in modo da simulare una sorta di replica ed avere due macchine vm uguali ma su due Storage indipendenti; una in produzione e l'altra spenta, quello che chiedo e' se tale tecnica può essere una soluzione valida oppure in qualche modo col tempo questa soluzione mi porta qualche problema inaspettato o comportamenti a me sconosciuti e pericolosi per la solidita' della vm stessa e del host.

Normally this should be OK, if you always re-create the full clone.
If you want to ensure that you can also handle the case where something bad happens during the clone you could use two targets, and remove the old one only once the new clone was successfully.

You probably already have LVM and do not want to switch, so just for your information: With ZFS there would be integrated replication from Proxmox VE.

In breve: no, ma ci sono limitazioni: per essempio, se qc succede durante il clone. Farei dei test su una VM non importante.

Normalmente questo dovrebbe essere OK, se si ricrea sempre il clone completo.
Se vuoi assicurarti di poter anche gestire il caso in cui accada qualcosa di brutto durante il clone, puoi usare due obiettivi e rimuovere quello vecchio solo dopo che il nuovo clone ha avuto successo.

Probabilmente hai già LVM e non vuoi cambiare, quindi solo per tua informazione: con ZFS ci sarebbe una replica integrata da Proxmox VE.

I had many problems in configuring ZFS - Multipath and two HP SANs. My intention was to create a zfs mirror between the two HP SANs but after days of trying I embraced the idea read on google that Zfs is not a shareable filesystem and for this reason although I was able to write to the zfs storage mirror, I saw the content storage only on a cluster host, in practice it always seemed like I had only one mass storage and not shared storage despite appearances
