Clone a VM when is Power On

I'm runing PVE 5.4 with Ceph. I notice that we can clone a VM also when is power on, and works fine. But is safe to clone a VM when is on or the disk can be corrupted?

It's save. However, if the clone starts up correctly depends on the guest OS (for it is like the machine had not been shut down correctly, e.g. Windows will complain and you have to select "Start Windows normally").
