Hi folks,
I am just exploring Proxmox VE and would like to say, that it is a great product. Concerning the backup-options I use CIFS at the moment.

As the backup is running "over the internet" I wonder whether it is possible to encrypt the CIFS mount? (There is no option for it in die Add cifs backupstore.)

Is something like:

Code:
mount.cifs -o seal,user=<username>,pass=<password> //<username>.your-storagebox.de/backup /PATH/FOLDER

possible?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
beside of the encryption I do my VM-Backup now to Hetzner-Online-Drive, which is only reachable from the Hetznernetwork, where my Server is hosted too. That way, the "whole Internet" has no access to this Online-Drive. This is better than nothing I think.

still curious whether encryption is possible.
