Is there any way to tell Proxmox to issue a "stop" instead of a "shutdown" when backing up certain VMs?
I'm running some android-x86 machines, and I can't find any way to make them correctly respond to the shutdown command. Which was expected.
Good news - for a full proxmox shut down, I can change an option so it force stops the VMs after a couple seconds of waiting for a shutdown - that seems to work fine.
But for backups, the system is waiting for them to shut down, they don't, and then the backup fails. I'd rather just kill the android VMs when a backup starts. I'm not concerned about data loss in the force stop of the androids.
Edit: I have found that I can do a snapshot instead of a "stop" for backup. So at least I have a solution if there isn't another way.
