I had to restore an old VM with a previous root password, and I am locked out now. Is there a way to get to Grub via noVNC to manually reset the password? By the time noVNC initializes the boot process has already begun. Is there another method for changing a guest VM root password?

Thanks in advance.

hi,

you can attach a linux ISO as CD-ROM drive, boot from there and chroot into your VM to change the root password.

there are also recovery ISOs that have menus for these things if you're not comfortable with CLI

hope this helps!
