Hi

I have set up Proxmox as standard Installation without setting any option during install.
Now I found it would be a better option to have little Root partition and more space for data especially as I have learned that it is difficult to get a folder from Synology for CTs which will take snapshots.

In short

Is there a way to change these settings on already installed Proxmox?

I think this should be possible.

While it is possible in principle, in practice for a beginner as you are as stated in other posts backup and reinstall is by far easier with less risk of loosing data (as the other option involves resizing partitions, ecc...)

Then the best option for Me Newbie is a reinstallation.
Can this be done without a monitor via putty?

"I imagine"
Log into putty remove all Proxmox Stuff
Call installation script from ??

And what are in the really possibilities?

No, you will have to do a full reinstallation using the Proxmox VE installer (which could be done remotely if your system offers IPMI) or alternatively install PVE on top of a debian install.

Simply removing the PVE packages will not help you in changing the partition and filesystem layout.
So you will have to first backup all the CTs/VMs to an offsite storage and then do the reinstall, finally doing a restore of the backups.

THX for taking care

RESULT:

Change the HDD Options on already installed Proxmox

Possible but far to complicated for a Newbie
