Hello,

we needed to change the IP-Address of our storage-system. I already found out that I have to change the address in the /etc/pve/storage.cfg. But the file is read only and apparently i have no permissions to change the file even though im logged in as root. I also cant remove the iscsi target and lun and lvm via the gui cause the files are blocked and i dont know which services to stop. Please help, thanks in advance.

Hi,
is your cluster currently in good health? If the cluster isn't quorate, meaning that you don't have a majority of your nodes online, pve will cease to accept most changes and the content at /etc/pve will go read-only.
You can look up the current status of your cluster by executing pvecm status as root.

Once the the /etc/pve situation is resolved, you should still plan for some downtime/maintenance. Even after changing the config file - it wont affect existing established connections or iscsi database. It'd be best to shutdown the VMs, ensure that "iscsiadm -m node" and "-m sessions" are clear, then change the IP in the config , restart the iscsid, rediscover the targets and restart the VMs. You may need to reboot.

Thank you for the quick replies. To make it work i had to execute systemctl stop pve-cluster corosync and pmxcfs -l and then i was able to adjust the /etc/pve/storage.cfg.
