Ceph OSD add

I am trying to add an OSD using the web GUI and I have 5 disk:
1-system disk
2-2x500GB SSD
3-2x250 GB HDD

When trying to create it through the web, it only appears the SSD for the OSD data tab while the rest appear on the journal tab.

I want to create a OSD for one HDD and have the Journal in the SSD, I want to know why the web GUI doesnt allow me to do that. I totally know that I can still create it using commands but I want to find a easier way to do it and understand why it's not working right now

Which PVE version do you use? How is your disk setup?

I am using Proxmox 5, the latest version I could get.
My disk setup as I said before is a 6 disk raid (2 of them are in raid 1 so 5 logical disk)
2 disk of 75 GB in raid 1 where PVE is installed.
2 RAW disks HDD of 250 GB each
2 RAW disks SDD of 500 GB each
everything else works fine my only question is why I can only choose the 500 GB disk as a data disk and any of the rest as a journal disk?

I suppose you are using ceph luminous, are you trying to create filestore or bluestore osds? Are there already any partitions on those drives? If so, try to zap the disks first (ceph-disk zap).

I can totally create the osd using ceph disk and comand line, but somehow I cant through GUI probably because ceph version. I have connected an already ceph cluster version jewell 10.2.9

Is this post related to this one? Did connect PVE only as a client or does it also host any ceph services?

Yes it the same, PVE its only a client. I really wanted to have a dedicated HW for ceph so I didnt set up any ceph services on the PVE host. If needed I would set an osd or a monitor there.

You can not create OSDs on external hosts through GUI or CLI. To use OSDs on PVE hosts you need to install ceph packages and configure Ceph on PVE accordingly.
