Ceph network setup

I've been reading for a couple hours, and perhaps it's the cold medicine I'm on, but I'm not quite wrapping my head around something, so thought I'd ask here.

Current setup:

• 1x 10G - used for PVE management and Ceph public (same VLAN), and also VMs/Internet (vmbr0)
  (the two are separate, and the parent interface has no IP)
• 1x 10G MTU 9000 - Ceph private network
• corosync is separate

In this setup is it better off speed-wise putting the Ceph public network on another subnet with MTU 9000 on that same NIC it's on now? (is that possible for a VLAN? I'm seeing conflicting info on whether it's possible to set MTU...)

Or maybe just move it to the same NIC as the Ceph private network? Or leaving it all as-is?
