Dear Proxmox people,

We added 3 new nodes to our Proxmox cluster with the goal to make these our primary monitors for our Ceph storage layer.

Steps we did:
- Added them to the Proxmox cluster
- Made them Ceph Monitors
- Waited a day and then destroyed the old ones.
- Everything kept running without any downtime or problems!

Now the only problem is that within the "/etc/pve/storage.cfg” it still shows the old monitors.
Although "/etc/ceph/ceph.conf” shows all the new correct monitors.

Our question is how can we best adjust the “storage.cfg” config file to have the correct IP’s from our monitors.
Can we just edit the config file? Should we create storage.cfg.new and then later move that instead?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Kind regards,
Chris

You can copy it, but normally it should do it self.

Can you please send the output of pveversion -v

Everything works again after manually editing the storage.cfg with the new monhosts.

Still weird that it didn't update automatically?
Even in a fresh installed test environment it didn't update the storage.cfg after deleting a Ceph monitor.

So I think there is bug in the proxmox-ve 4.4-90 version.

Thanks for the help!

Kind regards,
Chris
