Ceph Image Storage allocation

I have been allocating 10 + TB to my vms and just wanted to confirm if the storage is dynamic and will only assign as much storage as it needs

Yes. RBD is thin provisioned. There is an option, if you would manually create the image, to allocate the full disk image. But as soon as the VM would issue a trim/discard, the unused space would be deallocated from the image again. So a kinda useless exercise
