Hi,

I´m new with all of this and I have some questions..
I just installed a lab with 3 (PCs ) proxmox nodes on a cluster and ceph for shared storage to migrate VM from one to another node ( It´s basically what we need).

Now I have a question about ceph. When you add a ceph pool to de datacenter the content has to be "Disk Image" or "Container".... but it is possible to use ceph as a network storage unit for user file storage? like media, libre office files... etc? how could be done?

thanks in advance

Also not that CephFS is considered 'experimental' by Ceph, and no guarantees that it won't crash or eat your data for breakfast. (At least last time I've checked.)

*update* jewel announcement says "This is the first release in which CephFS is declared stable! Several features are disabled by default, including snapshots and multiple active MDS servers"
So it seems it's not dangerous anymore but still using a single MDS is a single point of failure.
