That is one difference in our setup. Our setup is strictly a proxmox ceph cluster. We don't run any VM's on the front ends. We have other clusters dedicated just for the VM's.

So you use proxmox to administrate your ceph via GUI in a easy way, right ?
Yeppers, proxmox has done a great job imo. We are a CentOS shop, but it was just easier with proxmox.
