Centralized backup jobs definition and management

So right now all configuration happens on client side - whether it be Proxmox VE cluster or plain server.
Under configuration I mean - what include/exclude, schedule, backup options, etc.
Question - are there any plans to include definition/configuration of backup jobs centralized on PBS itself?
And so from client it will require only authentication and network connection to PBS.
Similar architecture is in Bacula/Bareos but they are a bit dated and don't have integration with Proxmox VE.
Thanks!

Hi,
Under configuration I mean - what include/exclude, schedule, backup options, etc.
I don't think so. The backups are triggered always come from the Backupclients and not from the server itself.
The server has no control over the clients and this is intended.

to add to what my colleague said:

we already thought about how we could implement such a feature, and one option would be that clients regularly check in with the server and check if they should run
that way one could define schedules on the server without the server having access to the clients

this is only speculation and nothing concrete is planned/written yet, but maybe in the future we can do this

Thank you for replies. I exactly asked for @dcsapak,s approach.
I'm glad that this idea is in mind and hope it will be implemented. Having dumb client which asks server for tasks would be great.
