This is on Proxmox 7.4-3 running on a home server. I have the internal cd rom drive that I am trying to use for ripping an audio cd. I followed the instructions below to get very close.

When I insert the audio cd now, Windows recognizes it as such. It shows me .cda tracks as well. But they are all shows as 1kb files and no software can read or understand these files. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Windows 11 has guest additions installed so I can reboot it and shut it down through proxmox console. I tried ejecting the cd drive using Explorer and that does not work. But if I insert the cd manually Windows sees that - which gives me hope.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I could never get iSCSI to work for me and I use PCIe passthrough of a whole SATA controller (currently via an M.2 slot adapter) to fully use an optical drive (burn, watch DVD, rip audio). I have also used an internal SATA to external USB adapter in the past (with USB passthrough and PCIe passthrouhg of a whole USB controller).

Thanks. Did you have the same problem as me or were you not able to see the drive from Windows at all. From where I am, it seems like I am close.
