Case sensitive email addresses

I noticed this as well and did some research and found that RFC 5321 requires that the local-part of the address be treated as case-sensitive except by the host in the domain part of the address. So, as a gateway, PMG would be correct in keeping things case-sensitive. Only the final host has the authority under RFC5321 to interpret the address as case-insensitive.

Maybe this could be a configuration option? I surely would love the ability to force lowercase all incoming mail solely for statistics generation.

Hello All,

I'm seeing this same problem, however PMG is rejecting the message.
If I email mike@ vs Mike@
the lower case value gets rejected with 554 5.5.1 Error: no valid recipients

for reference the account on the cpanel box is lower case.

I can get it rejected several times, then magically one is accepted.... ( it will get rejected again later )
Not sure if there is a setting to ignore case, or something I may be doing wrong.

please open a new thread (instead of replying to one more than 6 months old) - and provide the PMG logs for the mail.
