Capture ZFS snapshot and exclude RAM, then back up snapshot?

I have the problem mentioned in https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/vms-freezing-and-unreachable-when-backup-server-is-slow.96521/ and several other threads.

We use PBS and sometimes the whole VM being backed up just crawls to a halt and I too have experienced that the VM needed a hard reboot to function again.

If I do a regular ZFS snapshot and exclude RAM (since I don't need the RAM contents) it is all lightning fast, absolutely no problem.
Is it then possible to backup the snapshot, after it has been taken, to PBS and then just delete the snapshot eventually (either by keeping x snapshots or just the last x days)? This way, the actual VM is not touched while the transfer is happening, so no speed locking or anything. The snapshot was already taken.

Just create a cronjob, this is not Proxmox VE specific, but standard ZFS.

I'd like it to be visible in the Proxmox VE webui - will it still be even I just make a regular ZFS snapshot from cli?

Can they be backed up to PBS after htey've been taken?

No, a regular zfs snapshot is not visible in the GUI, you need to take it with PVE then

No, PBS only takes backups of the live image.

If you need such a fine granuar image backup based on zfs snapshots, you may need to send/receive the snapshots to another machine but then, PBS is not involved.
