Can't upgrade past proxmox 7.x - 11

Having trouble upgrading with upgrading to get tpm support. Wondering how to fix it. I have the entreprise subscription turned off and test and no subscription repository on and no dice. This is the error I get below:

Looks like your DNS is not working or not configured or not reachable via the network. I assume you have other internet issues from your Proxmox host besides updating. What did you configure in the Proxmox GUI under the node > System > DNS > DNS server 1?
 
I think I fixed it by changing the dns server I can upgrade but not update which is good enough, but I changed the name server to 8.8.8.8
