Can't see the backups on an NFS share

Hello,

I have created an NFS share: Datacenter > Storage > add > NFS.
I ticked everything for content.

My backups are like:

I would like to transfer these VMs to this new PVE. The problem is that they do not appear on the NFS share.

I can see them on the other PVE from where I created them.

What can I do?
Thanks for your help.

Hervé

Hi,

Can you ensure that both use the exact same export (share)?
If that is correct and you should see the files on the system mount itself, in your case in ls /mn/pve/Nas2Sauvegardes/dump

If that all works out then it could be missing zstd support, as that was added in Proxmox VE 6.2. So, if the target-node is older it would not recognize those backups (simply upgrade in that case).

Hi,
Thanks for answering my post.
Both nods are up to date 6.4.6.

There might be a little bug.
Here is step by step why:
On my old node, NFS path is /volume1/Sauvegardes/ProxmoxMTG.

My backup server, a Synology Nas, manages NFS access only in the first directory after the volume: /volume1/Sauvegardes.
In my case, this directory hosts all our backups. Not only those of the VMs. So I created a ProxmoxMTG subdirectory. The NFS share path is /volume1/Backups/ProxmoxMTG.
Dump directories and other created wity Proxmox's add NFS volume's function are created under this directory: /volume1/Sauvegardes/ProxmoxMTG/dump...

When creating NFS volume with the 6.4.6 GUI, the proposed export path is /volume1/Sauvegardes

So I added manually /ProxmoxMTG

Unfortunately, though the right path is well displayed, when mounting this NFS share, your app doesn't take care about what I added, and mount it only on /volume1/Sauvegardes, and create a dump sub folder under Sauvegardes.

This is why I couldn't find my backups: dump and other directories created with Add NFS are under this path.

Unless I made a mistake in the first share, but I don't see which one, the nightmare is that by creating the same share with a shorter name, it works perfectly!
