Can't install proxmox on debian 9

It seems apt can't find the pve repo. A minimal sources.list for Debian would look like this:

deb http://security.debian.org/ stretch/updates main

Is that "pve-install-repo.list" in /etc/apt/sources.list.d or somewhere else?

Yes, /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-install-repo.list

I followed instructions https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Stretch
Any ideas?

Try rebbot server and install again

I have too in /etc/apt/source.list contrib non-free for deb source

That looks good - and you have proxmox-ve installed just fine? I was rather interested in the output from onetwothree who had the issue of not being able to install it though.
