Can't delete kvm virtual machine

I have virtual machines that show up on a vg that now longer exists. I have tried to remove them via gui with no success. I cannot find the file through ssh. Where might these virtual machines still be referenced from? If this is answered somewhere else I apologize.

just remove the config file, see /etc/qemu-server/VMID.conf

and the virtual disk image dir (if any), /var/lib/vz/images/VMID/
