I initially had an issue with a PANIC messages when attempting to boot with GRUB after a clean install. I was able to boot from the PVE disc using the "pveboot" command. This seems to get me up and running with PVE, but when I reboot GRUB gives me a PANIC message again. Of course I could go back and boot from the PVE disc again, but I want to avoid any manual boot steps obviously.
As a test, I was able to install Debian and Ubuntu on the same system and they both boot fine from GRUB after the installation and no PANIC errors are seen. Does anyone know if there is any GRUB stuff that I can copy from the working Debian or Ubuntu install and apply it the PVE that would make it work? I've been trying to get PVE up and running on this new machine for about a month now and I'm getting nowhere now. The issue to me seems like there is a problem with GRUB booting to PVE, since I can successfully boot using pveboot. Anyone have any suggestions for me here? I'm getting pretty desperate and I'd hate to abandon ProxMox because of this.
A couple notes:
1. I have tried PVE 2.1 and 2.2, both behave the same way
2. I am installing on a Dell Precision T7600 with a PERC h310 RAID/SAS controller card
3. I've tried installing with the hard drives in a RAID config and with no RAID config, same result
4. I've tried with 4 hdds installed and with a single hdd, same result
5. When I disconnect the RAID controller and just use onboard SATA, it works fine (but I need the RAID card for additional hdds)
If anyone has any suggestions for me, please let me know.
