Can't boot after upgrade

I tried to upgrade proxmox 2.3 to 3.x, using the script supplied.
All appeared to go well, no errors during upgrade. Sadly, though, my system will no longer boot. Grub loads, tries to start Linux 2.6.32-23-pve, it gets to Loading initial ramdisk.
After a short wait, it returns:

Gave up waiting for boot device
....
Alert! /dev/disk/by-uuid/36b489fb-..etc does not exist

It then stops at the Initramfs prompt.

How can I get the boot device working again?

Thanks,

Marcel

I hope you saved a copy of the guests?
Install again. And restores guests.
It is easier and more reliable.

It seems to be a wrong entry in the /etc/fstab file I guess. Boot in a recovery mode and try to fix it manually.
The best and easy method would be - how dduh said - to completely reinstall your machine.

Indeed, this Proxmox is deceased....

No boot options worked, neither recovery mode or trying to boot using various root=/dev/sdx possibilities.

I hadn't backed up anything, it's just a home server for playing around with different OS's.
So, I'll have to reinstall proxmox and VM's.
