This is my first home server, while it's had it's been a steep learning curve, I've finally got it to a place where I'm happy with it.
The problem is I can't access the webgui after I setup my new UDM-pro, I can access Truenas and home assistant that is installed in vms and lxcs on proxmox but not proxmox?! I'm guessing it's something of a DHCP allocation problem, as the ip address on the welcome screen is 192.168.86.57 and the static ip I gave it, 192.168.8.122, just isn't beening adopted. I tried logininng through the welocme screen but it keeps rejecting my password. Is the root passsword for the web gui the same as the welcome screen?
Any help would appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, josh.burry!

By default, the login credentials for the Proxmox WebGUI are the same as for the root user that you have set up when installing PVE on your home server. That's why it will tell you root@pam in the user field (PAM is the native authentication module on Linux).

But as far as I can tell, you have troubles reaching the WebGUI, if I'm not mistaken? If so, can you clarify how you setup the network on your Proxmox host? You can do that by running the command cat /etc/network/interfaces on the PVE node if you have physical access or can ssh into the machine. Otherwise, it is usually recommended to use static IP addresses in your network for the PVE nodes and be sure that they are in a common subnet so that they're visible to the router.
