can't access host webui but containers work fine - can I check access without a monitor?

I recently redid my home network and put the PVE machine(along with many other) on a different subnet (from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.5.x). And for some reason, after proxmox boots up, I cannot access the host webui, but all containers are live and working fine. From my firewall/router(OPNsense) I can see containers getting DHCP leases with their hostnames, but I don't see the host getting an IP address. I'm 99.99% sure I didn't set up the host to use static IP(which would be in 192.168.1.x subnet).

I don't have a spare monitor to hook up to the machine, I'm wondering if there's anything I can try to see what's going on? The machine has a RS232 port and I have an old USB-to-RS232 cable, and I'm wondering if buying one of those cheap HDMI capture devices ($20?) would work so I can hook it up to my laptop...

fwiw The machine is a lenovo TS140 with i3 CPU, running plex and some download client in containers.

Hi,

have you tried to ping the server or access it via ssh? If you changed your IP address did you change it in /etc/hosts as well?

I unplugged my main monitor and hooked it up to proxmox machine, only to find out that I did set static IP for the machine...and have IP hardcoded in /etc/hosts... that 0.01% actually happened. Cleaned it up and everything's fine now.

This is what I deserve for not documenting what I did lol. DHCP static lease from now on, now that I have OPNsense managing all the IPs...
