Cannot mount iSCSI target due to connection issues

Hi. So my server provider is working with me on trying to implement a new SAN. We have been having a bunch of issues and our latest is connection issues between proxmox and the SAN. I am using openfiler for my SAN at the moment as a heads up. I add the iSCSI target to the Storage in the Datacenter, and then add a LVM group on top of it. When i do this it shows the amount of space in the Content tab for about a minute. I then try to use it again later and it just shows the Loading icon for a long time and then says Connection Error (0). The current SAN is on a private connection via the switch, while the new SAN is not on a private connection and is using an actual IP instead of a 192.168.0.3 for instance.

I also had an issue a few days ago (and still now) with some weird CPU usage and graphs from the GUI. Specifically the GUI would be missing data for about 10 minutes at a time. Like literally you see the blue and red graph lines and there is nothing for 10 minutes and then it magically re-appears. I have no idea what is causing this. Right now my proxmox1 node is online and has 0 VM's running on it. It is still at CPU load 1.0 somehow, and there is this process in the background that is at 100% CPU utilization called vgs. A screenshot is attached.

I had my server company do a hardware analysis and they found nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm really not sure what's wrong, but there is obviously a couple of issues that need to be corrected with this setup. I need some help debugging the system and finding out what's wrong. There are also some current I/O issues with the current setup which is why we are trying to migrate everything to the new SAN where its one iSCSI target/LVM group vs individual ones for each VM.
