Cannot install promox since setup cannot detect keyboard. So how do i go about installation?

can you post a screenshot/image of what you mean exactly?

also you can always install pve over a plain debian install, see https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Buster
