As I stated above in the title, I have followed the Pci and Pci(e) passthrough guides, yet when I try to create a Ubunter server VM I am flooded with errors.

I only want to use the gpu as a pcie device to use to train ML models.

When I create the VM, I dont start it and then add the gpu manually through the hardware GUI. Once it's added, it boots up and starts spitting errors, it does post then prints the errors in my first picture, then after ~3 minutes throws hundreds of SCHED_ERROR 20. And what gets even weirder is after 7 minutes it boots into the installer perfectly, but never boots again if I do install it.

It's a really weird error and series of event. If anyone knows why its happening or point me in the right direction, would be amazing.

It looks to me like the open source driver nouveau does not support your card (or RTX 2080 in general)? Maybe only kernel mode setting works for text mode/console and not the graphical desktop/login screen of Ubuntu? Have you tried installing the proprietary NVidia drivers for Ubuntu from the text console (Ctrl+Alt+F3 for example)? Or first boot with Spice or Standard VGA and install the binary NVidia drivers without passthrough?
