I downloaded Debian template and I enabled the console login with no issues as per http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/OpenVZ_Console#Centos_6

When I tried to use the same guide however for Centos 6 Std template it did not work. The prompt stays at > Starting udev: [OK]

BTW the file
/etc/init/tty.conf did not exist at all (in contrast with Debian where I had to just add a line).

It only works if I enter the CT via the HW node and type start tty.

Any ideas?

works here without problems, like described in the wiki.

so I do not see whats wrong on your side.

Is there a log that I can check for this?
The syslog from the HW node shoes nothing in error.

Does this say anything to you? >>>
After typing "start tty" I can see the promp on the console. I login and immediately issue a shutdown -r now command. I then see this on the console:
>>>
init: Re-executing init
init: Failed to re-execute init: No such file or directory
>>>

The file /etc/init/tty.conf is of course there with the exactoly the same contents as the guidance link for Centos6

Any ideas?

Same results BUT accidentally I realised the following:
When I launched the console my phone rang. So I left the console at the "Starting udev...." message with the cursor blinking.

While I was on the phone I realised that after some considerable time the prompt came up so I would login.
I then re-tried the process and timed it: From the Start button (on an open console) untill the prompt is ~4min 20 seconds !!!
The same applies to both templates (the one I have downloaded from inside proxmox and yours).

The Debian template loads instantly!

Bug?
