Cannot create pool in TrueNAS Scale with three 4TB HDDs

Hi, I have been trying to setup a TrueNAS Scale VM through proxmox. I have the VM created and I can log into TrueNAS through UI just fine as well as see all of my HDDs I am trying to pool there. When I attempt to create the pool I continuously get an error:

Error: one or more vdevs refer to the same device, or one of the devices is part of an active md or lvm device

Backstory - I had TrueNAS OS installed on this server previously, but my OS Drive crashed and I was unable to recover it. I now have a new 500gb NVME drive which I decided to install Proxmox this time, and do TrueNAS through a VM. Only problem is that it seems my previous pool that was created with the three 4TB HDDs is now in some sort of corrupted state. Steps I have taken so far

1) I initially tried importing the pool through the TrueNAS UI in my new VM. This ended up causing the VM to get into a stuck state, so I rebooted it and scrapped that idea. Also I had already backed up my data so was not worried about what was on it.

2) Used the Wipe disk "quick" option in TrueNAS for each of the three 4TB HDDs, and attempted to create a new pool again. This produced the same error above.

3) Found this article (https://support.siliconmechanics.com/portal/en/kb/articles/clearing-raid-metadata) explaining that RAID metadata is stored on the beginning and end of each disk, so I tried these steps in the console. The console commands worked fine for each HDD, although attempting to create a new pool after still failed with the same error

4) I've attempted to rewrite the disk completely with 0's through the TrueNAS "wipe" function, but each attempt has seemed to take over 24hrs, and at some point after that I get disconnected, and the console seems stuck as well.

5) I attempted the same disk write procedure but using the linux "dd" command to write the whole disk to 0's. Again the console became stuck on the first disk after roughly 27hrs

Pretty stuck at this point, and not sure how its possible that I'm still receiving this error. I will happily provide any extra data to help resolve this. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone in advance! :)

Did you also try to wipe the disks from the PVE host? Keep in mind that when working without PCI passthrough of a HBA your TrueNAS is always working with virtual disks and not the real physical disks.

Ah yes I forgot to mention that. I did try wiping from the PVE host itself, That removed some /dev/sdx1 and /dev/sdx2 partitions, but again no luck when trying to create the pool afterwards. Although from the PVE host each disk appears clean.
