Cannot Connect to Web GUI from Another PC

Hello. Brand new to ProxMox, and relatively new to the Linux world. Just installed a fresh version of 8.1.2 on an Intel NUC series 8 with plans to run HA, Frigate, etc. After a successful install, I am not able to access the ProxMox GUI from another machine. However, I can ping the NUC from my PC, and the PC from the NUC via the terminal. I've read through multiple forums with people stating this same issue, so I've attached a screenshot of my network stats (ip r, /etc/network/interfaces and port 8006 status). Running a mesh Wifi network, but the NUC is connected to a mesh node via RJ45 ethernet. NUC is set to 192.168.50.207. I've gone into the LAN settings in my router to ensure the subnet is open to .207 and it is (192.168.50.2-253 are available). I've also gone through and set the NUC's MAC to ensure 207 is given to this machine even though the machine itself is set to static so there aren't any conflicts. What am I missing? Can you ssh to PVE? What URL are you using to access GUI? It should be https://192.168.50.207:8006
Some "smart" routers block access to an IP that it is within their controlled DHCP range but was not given out by DHCP. Which sounds like your case. In that situation you need to reduce your DHCP range and use an IP outside of it.

I have not tried SSH, but will see if that works. I am using that URL you listed above, with no luck. I will also try your suggestion of reducing the DHCP range of my router and then set the NUC to an IP outside of that. How do I change the IP directly in the NUC via the command line? I don't want to have to re-install the OS just to change the IP (again, new'ish to the Linux world so need to brush up on this, but would appreciate the help!).

Thanks for this. It "seemed" like SSH was going to work, and prompted me for a user name and password when I attempted to connect. When I input the password of the root I configured during the initial setup, it kept telling me my password was incorrect. So not sure if SSH works or not.

The fact that you are being asked for credentials signifies that SSH connectivity works. However, the fact that you cant login raises a possibility that you are not ssh'ing to where you think you are. Or that you misconfigured the installation in more ways than one.
The former could mean that you have an IP conflict - shutdown your PVE host and see if the IP still pingable/sshable. It would also mean that you did not do a good job on properly allocating IP.

Last update: Just couldn't let this go before I left for the weekend. Decided to reinstall proxmox and that did the trick. Maybe something on the install got bugged out, or maybe it was because this time around I had the router set to give it a specific IP when it started its DHCP requests on reinstall. When I installed it the first time, I didn't have an IP reserved for it, so who knows. Installed in debug mode so I could watch the prompts and noticed that this time around. In any case, it's all good now! Thanks for your help
