cannot connect to port 8006 to access browser gui

Hello,
Laptop A & Laptop B are connected via ethernet cable,

I have installed Proxmox VE on laptop A.
It is configured with IP within the available range and does not conflict with another device on my LAN.

From laptop B, when I attempt to access the GUI via the URL that Proxmox provides ending with :8006/ , I get an error "ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE" from my browser.

How can this be solved so that I can access the Proxmox GUI from Laptop B's browser ?
 
Thank you for the question, it led me to investigate further.
I had connected the two laptops with Ethernet cable one to the other. So when you asked about the subnet, i logged into my router and saw that the Laptop A wasn't displayed. So I unplugged it from Laptop B and plugged Laptop A into the router, then tried again and it worked.

I wrongly assumed the Laptop A would connect with Wifi to the router, then remembered I didn't set it up during the Proxmox installation.

I leave that here in case that could help another beginner. Thanks @Impact
