I installed PVE host on hard disk(1), created all VMs on hard disk(2) with lvm-thin pool.
If the hard disk(1) is damaged or lost or destroyed, Can I restore VMs from lvm-thin hard disk(2)? The key data(index data, meta data...) of lvm-thin pool is storaged on hard disk(1) or hard disk(2) ?

Sorry for my bad english.

If I understand you correctly: the virtual disks of the VMs are stored on hard disk 2. Proxmox stores all VM configurations on hard disk 1 (under directory /etc/pve/). Easiest way to restore VMs when hard disks fail is to have backups of VMs.

You are right, the virtual disks of the VMs are stored on hard disk 2.
I just want to get the virtual disks of the VMs back after PVE host is damaged, don't need the VM configurations.
