Can a LXC container hang node?

I wonder if a LXC container can cause severe problems to the node, to the point that the node might hang and must be rebooted? For example some processes inside the container might enter the uninterruptible sleep (also known as state "D" from ps output) due to some heavy disk IO operations.

The reason I asked the question is this: I'd like to expose some ZFS dataset on the node to clients via a LXC CT with bind-mount. But I am not sure by doing so I might expose some risk to the node.

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Happens to me, a lot. ZFS gives me troubles (I guess because one vdev is a USB drive) which in turn cause troubles for NFS which in turn hangs containers that have (had) a NFS mount. Hard reset the only cure.
