btrfs deprecated?

Hi all,

According to Redhat btrfs development has stopped and therefore btrfs is deprecated in RHEL 6.8.

Development of B-tree file system (Btrfs) has been discontinued, and Btrfs is considered deprecated. Btrfs was previously provided as a Technology Preview, available on AMD64 and Intel 64 architectures.

it looks like this only applies to rhel 6.8
the documentation for rhel 7(link) states:

IMPORTANT

BTRFS is a Technology Preview in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

and the btrfs wiki (link) has news from march 2016
