Boot seemingly frozen at random points after hardware upgrade

Hey all,

I recently replaced a CPU and mainboard after a CPU failed on me earlier this week.

After getting the upgrades installed and configured (same architecture), I'm noticing that each time i try to boot Proxmox it will appear to hang at random steps in the boot process. At this point, i'm all out of ideas.

It will always make it to the "Welcome to Debian GNU/Linux" announcement, but stop a bit further down... never at the same place. Stopping on lines like:
Mounting RPC Pipe Filesystem...
OK - Set up automount Arbitrary Executable File Formats File System Automount Point.
vfio-pci 000:07:00.0: vgaarbg: changed VGA decodes: olddecodes=io+mem,decodes:io+mem:owns=none

Anyone see this before? I'm not seeing any errors that i can parse.

Is there possibly some way to drop into a root shell via grub? Noticed there is no kernel section in my boot parameters. A bit in the weeds here
