Hi All,

I make a demonstration to a customer and I realize that Proxmox MG don't filter the messages from ZIP files as I expect!?!

Example:

1) I create a rule to block multimedia content and activate (see attached picture). I use the default Multimedia - What object.

2) I take a .mov file and try to send from external mail to the server protected by PMG. As we expect the file was blocked as I define in rule.

3) I create an archive .zip with the same content and send the attachment to the same address; now the mail pass - and inside this archive it's a multimedia file.

What I do wrong?

I test with: Version (package/version/build) proxmox-mailgateway/2.3/4009

I come back with a new observation...I edit What object - Multimedia and I add:
dyngraph.pl
contentfilter.gif

Archive Filter content-type=audio/.*
dyngraph.pl
contentfilter.gif

Archive Filter content-type=video/.*

Now the mail it's blocked as I expect, but I ask...it's 100% sure for all archive types?

first, pls not use two final actions in one rule (final actions are block, quarantine, accept) - only one.

pls make a backup of your config and explain what you wanna block and I will take a look on it (send to support@proxmox.com)

IN this case I need to define special rule with diferent priority? To create rules for all 3 actions?
Or I can leave Block & Notify admin in the same rule?

In this moment all 3 actions in the same rule work correct...Maybe we can receive more details about why we can't use more actions in the same rule.

there are 3 final action:
- block
- quarantine
- accept

it makes no sense to add block and accept in the same rule. Block and notifiy is no problem as notify is not a final action. block and quarantine is also wrong - if you block you do not want the mail - quarantine means you want the mail in the quarantine.

OK...I see the logic now! I can chose what to do with mail! Or I pass, I block him or I send him to Quarantine.

For example I can combine a Block rule with Notify Admin and Disclaimer?

yes, you got it!
