Hi,

Im trying to install Proxmox VE 1.8.

Im getting an error (screen shot http://ScrnSht.com/umprgd ) and then a black screen with cursor top left.

Basically it says something about "No native mode, forcing panel scaling"
then
something about "Driver 'pcspkr' is already registered, aborting"

Then shortly after detecting netowrk settings goes blank.

Im connected via KVM (if that matters at all)

Its a machine I installed 1.7 on fine (although via a different KVM I believe) the only difference is a new/different disk.

Thanks
Tim

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds unlikely.. shouldnt all gfx cards be VESA2.0 compatible?

This isnt an old machine.

Can Keyboard/Video/Mouse KVM over IP cause this issue? I believe the make of the KVM is raritan.

The machine has a raid setup. They have tried both the built in raid controller and a 3ware raid card. As I understand it, the 3ware raid card should be supported? If there was an issue with the raid, would it stop at that point?
Thanks

Hi as an update,

Version 1.5 seems to be installing now.

Im guessing I can then just upgrade to 1.8.

Is there something I can put in the boot option to make the 1.8 install work like 1.5 ? is 1.5 using a different vga mode?

I have the problem on two grafic cards.
GF 6200 and gf 210.
I think both are VESA2.0 compatible.
With Debian installer i works but there is no driver vor adaptec 6 series.

I installed 1.5 and upgraded like this..

apt-get update && aptitude safe-upgrade && aptitude install proxmox-ve-2.6.32

Its fine after that. They were new machines with VESA2.0 compat cards too

As there is VESA 2.0 since 1994 and 3.0 was released 1998 i think a geforce 210 released in october 2009 should be 2.0 compatible.

Also I am not 100% sure (only 99%) i read somewhere that all geforce grafic cards since Geforce 2 (April 2000) are VESA 3.0 compatible.
Btw all other linux installer work with this grafic cards (Debian 5/6, Ubuntu 10.04-11.10alpha3, Fedora 14/15, ...)

Do you use any different kernel settings compared to debian installer

@timmy:
My problem is that there are no drivers for Adaptec 6405E Raid Controller for 1.5
