Running PMG v. 5.1-2, what is the best way to upgrade the PMG to v. 5.2 ?
Is that to take a backup of the configuration (Configuration - Backup/Restore) ?

Running the PMG on Hyper-V (Windows 2016) - do you then create a new Hyper-V instance and then restore the configuration backup ?
Will it then have the old IP address and all of the WhiteList's and BlackList that the users have created in the past ??

Just apply the updates offered via GUI, probably refresh/reload the brower page afterwards.

Ok. Do you have to be logged in as root or as an admin user in the GUI ?
And does that only works if you have a subscription key ?

* The updates via GUI work also without a subscription.
* You need to be logged in as root (since software-upgrades need root permissions via CLI as well)

Please make sure you have the correct repositories configured (see chapter 3.4 in the pmg-admin-guide: https://www.proxmox.com/images/download/pmg/docs/pmg-admin-guide.pdf)

hope this helps!

Thanks.
That worked. Just needed to read the books..... RTFB
