Hi!

First, a big thanks to the makers of Proxmox! Have been running for a few years and just now had the need to register an account which shows its a software that just works! :)

Im in the progress of moving my homelab from some smaller fanless PC:s to real servers.

2x Dell 730 and 1x Dell 320 in a Proxmox cluster (running 6.3-3)

My current planned setup is the two 730:s as main VM-servers and the 320 running VM:s for monitoring, management servers and having NFS-share for backup directly from software (Elasticsearch, Grafana etc) in the running VM:s. The current disks in the 320 are 2x2TB in a ZFS mirror.

Now i have started looking at the new Backup Server from Proxmox and i was thinking of running this as a VM in the 320.

How would you suggest i use the 2x2TB (spinning disk) in the 320 if i want to run VM:s, have an NFS-share and use it for the PBS?

Some random thoughts has been...
Mount the local NFS-share? (Performance?)
Make a big disk in Proxmox and give to the PBS? (Does not feel right..)
Partition the 2x2TB in some way? (Would need perhaps 2-300 GB for VM:s)
I have two consumer 256GB SSD:s not used today. Put them as system/VM:s and give raw disk (2x2TB) to the PBS and have this VM share NFS?
